SHANE’S RIB SHACK ANNOUNCES FINAL FOUR CONTESTANTS
TO COMPETE IN “THE ULTIMATE SHANIAC BBQ EATING CONTEST”
WITH ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
ATLANTA (August 10, 2012) – Shane’s Rib Shack and Atlanta Motor Speedway, are proud to announce that the four finalists to compete in the “Ultimate Shaniac BBQ Eating Contest” have been determined. The contest is slated to take place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Fan Stage on September 1, 2012 at 5PM EST during the Advocare 500, NASCAR Cup Series Race Weekend. The four contestants entered the contest by submitting their information atwww.altantamotorspeeway.com/shanesribshack and emailing a photo and a story about why they are the “Ultimate Shaniac” to bbqcontest@shanesribshack.com. Shane’s Rib Shack founder, Shane Thompson chose the contestants based on originality, creativity and passion for eating BBQ. The final four contestants will receive 2 tickets to the Advocare 500 Race on September 2. The contestant who can eat the most BBQ Pork Sliders in 2 minutes will be dubbed the winner and will receive a Big Green Egg while the runners up will get $50 Gift Cards from Shane’s Rib Shack for participating!
The Final Four Contestants:
- Dale “Rib Breaker” Boone is a competitive eater and is so determined to win the title of “Ultimate Shaniac” that he traveled around to Shane’s Rib Shack locations until he found one where he could practice eating BBQ Pork Sliders.
- Darryl “BBQ Extraordinaire” Nelson’s love of BBQ began over 40 years ago and he intends on using his BBQ “addiction” to win the title of “Ultimate Shaniac”
- Frank “The Tank” Wickstead is a competitive eater and a BBQ connoisseur who is out to bring on the heat and win the title of “Ultimate Shaniac.”
- Patrick “Pit Master” Dogan is a certified Memphis in May BBQ judge. He is confident that he will be the “Ultimate Shaniac” because he rarely meets a contender who can eat faster than he can.
